What NOT to do in social media
I wrote about how more and more brands take note of social media, not just as another place to serve ads, but because of recent incidents like motrin and pepsi, also a place to avoid crappy advertising in the first place. I just came across this awesome benchmarking list with tons of examples on what NOT to do in social media, collected by Robin from the Interactive Insights Group.

this is irrespective of the not-very-insightful motrin ad and its negative fall-out: it seems like there are now social media protesters waiting to lunge at the next corporate slip-up to voice their anger and scheme for some bonusses, kiss-and-make-up call or at least a very public humiliation in the form of an apology.
The fact that people use an expression like ’social media outcry’ and ‘taking buying power somewhere else’ in their own ‘outcry’ gives me the creeps and the whole protest a calculating, superficial note.
