Viral of the week: The women

In the viral, an actor play a gay guy who tells his clueless girlfriend that he was hired by a viral marketing firm to date her because she is a “social connector” in order to create buzz for the film “The women”. It’s pretty funny, especially to people in the ad/marketing world, as it takes target audience insight to the extreme and pokes fun at the obsession to “make viral work for you” in a funny way.

    Bon Yurt is a yogurt brand in Colombia, whose slogan is. “The way you eat the world” which refers to every person’s way of having fun or making the best of dull situations. In this case we were promoting 7 limited edition pop art themed labels, so the concept behind the video is “the way you eat the world of pop art”. After very careful planning, we hired 23 professional paintballers, who were to shoot more than 60,000 paintballs at the canvas. The video was a great success, with over 500,000 visits and more than 100 features in blogs, websites and forums. The video spread throughout every continent and was also featured in a Japanese TV show, with an audience of over 23 million people, making it the most widespread and most seen Latin American viral video so far.
